Emma
Leslie came to Cambodia from Australia in 1997 to help develop a peace education
curriculum for Cambodian high schools. Her work in this conflict-torn country
led her to co-found the Action Asian Network, a network of peace builders in the
region united to help support people living in conflict zones. Emma Leslie is
also involved with other international peacebuilding organizations such as the
UK-based Responding To Conflict and the South Africa-based Action Network. She
was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 as part of the 1000 Women for
the Nobel Peace Prize project.
